Program Description:
This 4-day workshop is particularly designed for anyone who wants to learn how to paint expressive yet energetic “nocturne” paintings. We will be focusing on exploring alley scenes and urban street views with vivid lights from the street, shops, cars, street cats, and others to create a dynamic composition.
There will be a discussion on how to simplify and utilize shapes to capture mood to create expressive paintings. How to suggest your painting with good design, exciting brushstrokes and colors. How to balance realistic and abstract in your painting.
Students will paint one painting each day from photo references (provided by Hsin-Yao or students themselves). Hsin-Yao will demonstrate each day in the morning and then work with students on an individual basis.
All levels, oil painting. acrylics painters are welcome too.
